Description
The Bellavista cru is not produced every year, but only in exceptional vintages and in limited quantities. Bellavista is the name of this special vineyard. Its first vintage was in 1978. The vineyard is made up of primarily clay soils and sits quite high in the Chianti Classico zone peaking at 530m above sea level. It was planted between 1967 and 1975.
"The 2015 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista plays very true to type, with expressive aromatic top notes from the Malvasia Nera that gives the wine its distinctive savory/floral profile. Sage lavender, black pepper, menthol and juniper berry all grow in the glass. Towering and statuesque in its presence, the 2015 is going to need a number of years to be at its best." -Antonio Galloni
