Gregori vineyard is the typical barren and sandy soil of the valley of the river Tirso, the choice soil for Vernaccia. Antico Gregori is a cuvée of the best old vintages of Vernaccia, aged for many decades in small barrels of fine chestnut wood. Year after year, using the traditional "Solera method", the original wine, dating from the early twentieth century, is topped up with the best vintages of Vernaccia.

 

Thanks to a long storage in contact with wood, the final product is exceptional, so much that it represents the greatest achievement of the Contini winery. By using the Solera method, it has developed an intense and complex aroma of dried fruits and nuts. Great length and will match strong, sharp cheeses.
