Description
Tedeschi specializes in making wines of longevity. This red wine is made using an ancient winemaking technique called Ripasso, where a portion of the wine ages on the Amarone wine marc after it has been decanted in March.
By contact with the skins of Amarone, it performs another stage of slight alcoholic fermentation that lasts about 8-15 days. This increases the alcohol content and structure of the wine, thus improving longevity. It also develops new aromas that create an interesting and complex bouquet.
The wine is then left to age for approximately 1-2 years in Slavonian oak barrels before it is bottled, then ages a further 6 months.
