Rustichella - Organic Farro Penne Rigate 500g
Pasta made with wholemeal, organic emmer wheat. Farro pasta can be used like hard durum wheat pasta, however the rustic, texture and flavour is well-suited for matching with meat and vegetable-based sauces.
Rustichella d'Abruzzo is one of the few genuinely artisan pasta manufactures operating in Italy. For their farro range of pasta, they select “Triticum dicoccum” also known as emmer wheat, that is organically grown in Abruzzo. The grain is stone-ground then mixed with pure mountain water.
This robust dough is extruded through bronze dies before undergoing a slow drying process on frames that have been especially made for the farro range. The Triticum range is certified organic and made without the use of chemical fertilizers, crop protection products or weed killers.
