Description
Mazon is categorized as a Single Vineyard wine among the Hofstatter range which stem from historic vineyard parcels. Included among these are three great growths that are produced only in extraordinary vintages.
In colour it is deep ruby-garnet with a typical aroma of undergrowth, small berry fruits and black cherry – mellow, sweet and inviting. On the palate it is warm, harmonious and well-knit, round and rich in complexities, firm though elegant, broad and velvety, enveloping with the grace and refinement of a truly international wine which will become even more impressive after a further one to two years in bottle.
The J. Hofstätter estate owns several farmsteads, including five historic aristocratic “Ansitze”, aristocratic residences typical for South Tyrol. These farmsteads are located on both the east and west sides of the Adige River, which is unique for this region.
